Soft tops are the easiest way to learn. Funboards and longboards catch everything. Shortboards are for when the swell shows up.

Which board is best for a beginner?+
A soft top or a longboard. They float more, paddle easier and forgive a late takeoff. S.A.M. can match one to your size.
What if the waves change during my rental?+
Swap boards at the shop. Your rental keeps going on the new board, your insurance comes with it, and you don't pay the first-day rate again.
Do I need a leash?+
We include one most of the year. During the winter months, leashes are the renter's responsibility.
Can you put the board on my car?+
Yes. Car racks are free with every rental.
Do you do group rates?+

What does the insurance cover?+
Basic ($50) covers most damage but not a broken board. Premium ($85) covers dings, creases and broken boards. Neither covers theft, so bring back a piece of the board.
